The Assessment Process

We are flexible in our approach to how assessments are conducted because we know that there is no 'one size fits all'. Before booking in an appointment we always arrange a time for a 15-20 minute chat with our clinician to get a better understanding of your child's individual needs to ensure that we are offering the right assessment, the right process at the right time.

Generally our comprehensive are completed over one appointment that can last for 4-6 hours.

From each assessment you receive a comprehensive report detailing assessment results, diagnosis (if applicable) and recommendations to support your child. The assessment includes comprehensive feedback with our clinicians where you have the opportunity to ask any questions. Our reports are often used to support applications for NDIS funding.

All assessments include:

  • An individual assessment with your child

  • Comprehensive clinical interview with parents/caregivers

  • Questionnaires and feedback from school and involved therapists

  • Review of reports regarding your child from involved professionals

  • Feedback from the assessing clinician on the results of the assessment

The Process:

Step 1. You enquire by completing our intake form or sending us an email.

Step 2. Our clinician contacts you within one business day to arrange a phone call.

Step 3. Based on information gathered during the phone call our clinician sends you an offer of appointment.

Step 4. If you want to proceed, you complete a consent and confidentiality form.

Step 5. We contact you with our next available appointment.

Step 6. Once we find a date that suits you, our clinician sends you a confirmation email with additional paperwork.

Step 7. You come in for your appointment.

Step 8. You receive a comprehensive report within one week of the assessment.
