Early Developmental Assessments

Sometimes young children do not meet their early developmental milestones within the expected timeframes for known or unknown reasons. While every child is different and develops at their own pace, a developmental assessment can give you an idea of your child’s developmental profile across learning, speech and language, hand-eye coordination, personal and social skills and gross motor skills. This type of assessment can also assess for the presence of a Global Developmental Delay. We provide general developmental assessments for children as young as 12 months.
Some of the assessment tools we may use in our early developmental assessments:
-
Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI-IV)
-
Griffiths Scales of Child Assessment (Griffiths 3)
-
Conners Early Childhood
-
Adaptive Behaviour Assessment System (ABAS-3)
-
Vinelands Adaptive Behaviour Scales (Vinelands 3)
All Assessments include:
-
An individual assessment with your child
-
Comprehensive clinical interview with parents/caregivers
-
Questionnaires and feedback from preschool/daycare and involved therapists
-
Review of reports regarding your child from involved professionals
-
Feedback from the assessing clinician on the results of the assessment
